Hi - I have had a DS Slade system for several years and have loved it and had almost no issues with it. After over 6 years I figure it's time to buy a new system.  Looking through the Config tool on DS website I see under GPU choice I don't even get to pick the card that is used?  I mean I guess I would understand that if this were a $1200 system but if I'm looking to drop $5k to $6k on a new system I think I should have the right to pick a video card from EVGA vs. MSI vs. PUNY etc. etc..

What is the thinking here by not giving people the choice? I personally don't like MSI video cards and stick to EVGA because I like their quality and have had great success with their cards.

I guess i"m shocked if DS has gone this way.

I think it started many months ago when getting any higher end card, like gtx 1080, was very difficult.   One reason was crypto mining sucking up the inventory. They got what they could and built with them.

Why now I’m not sure.    It is a crapshoot, unlike before.

I personally like MSI , but EVGA does have its following for the reasons you mentioned.

I guess a call to them is your best answer.

Just specify it in your build. They do have a section in the configurator where you can make specific requests. Being that it is one of the brands that they typically include in their builds, I would assume they wouldn't charge the $45 that they normally would if you were requesting a certain part that they do not offer in their systems. You can also email them and ask for clarification regarding this. They usually respond within a day or two.

I reached out to them and was told they can use the manufacturer I request. They said the majority of people don't care so they don't make it a selection online but if I email them with the config number I get they will give me the manufacturer I request.

Glad my loyalty to them can continue.
