GPU problem, please help

So, I bought a GPU from a friend of mine, it was a RTX 2080 TI he sold me for $500 after he upgraded to the RTX 3080. It's been working great had no problems for a while until I use the MSI After burner OC scanner. After I was done I tried to run a game, it ran good until the GPU you reached 81ﾟ My 2 monitors went black and I can still hear the game play, But the PC is completely unresponsive I have to manually shut it down, As if the GPU was removed while the PC was running. I have no warranty for it and have no clue where I can get it fixed or what's wrong with it, Would like to not spend $1000 for a new one.   Please help thank you

Start by undoing whatever MSI Afterburner did. First step when something you did changed your performance is to undo it. I'd guess your card is thermal throttling, but it shouldn't at 81C. It may have spiked a temp you didn't see.
