High guys. Got my ode level 1 yesterday. Has been great so far and ill post a review at some point. The only thing ive noticed is that during shogun 2 HW monitor says it reaches a max 87 degrees C. When I read the values I only see it go to low 80s. Either way ive been looking online and most load temps for the gtx 670 are in the 70s. So my questions are:
Is the system running too hot? I know the max value for gtx 670 is 97 but 87 is pushing it Do i need to manually turn the fan on to max to counter this? Thanks in advance :) |

Hi marccody,
I would download GPUz (it's free). You can set it to log data to a text file. It records this data every second. Then run a gaming session and after you are finished you can go back and look at the data. You will then be able to see not only the max temp your GPU reached but how long it actually stayed at the temp. This should give you a better idea on the temp your GPU is running at. I hope this helps

Thanks asan. I Really hope the HW monitor is a bit off. Just ran league of legends and it went up to 82 C. Thats way to high for such a easy game to run.
Edit: Nope GPUZ shows 80 degrees on league. Shogun 2 reached 86 in just a couple mins of gaming. Edited by marccody - 23 Aug 2012 at 7:52pm |

I may have fixed it myself. I used fan speed software to boost the fan speed. Its not going above the low 70s now. Have the fan speed at 80 to keep it that way (only during load, lower fan speed during idle)

The video cards will automatically kick up in speed when needed, while 86 is high, it's fine for the video card, they are designed to go under that much of a load to stay quiet.
