I don't recall ever seeing these discussed around here so thought I'd share my first addition to the DS Machine I got a couple months ago. Have any of you considered, or installed, backplates?
Perhaps they are an item Digital Storm should consider offering?

I have added a backplate to my 780 Ti graphics card. Not totally necessary but some discussion with others made me aware of the potential for these big heavy graphics cards to sag a little over time. A backplate can help prevent this and has the added bonus of looking cool and also helping the card keep a few degrees cooler. Not a bad investment for $20.

At the time I built my PC, had I known these things existed, I may well have asked for it. (although in my specific case...probably not, because the 780 Ti plates are so hard to get right now....i got lucky and ordered within minutes of being notified EVGA had a few back in stock)

The EVGA Hydro Copper come with backplate on them.

I know some cards, not just from EVGA, come with backplates. I think with the size and weight of the high end cards these days they should come as standard. If you're paying out $700-$1000 for a top end card, whats a couple of bucks for a bit of metal to the manufacturer. Oh yeah....they want that $20-25 extra from you

I know I had DS put the XSPC backplates on my Triple Titans along with XSPC's water blocks...

Same benefits as I described.
1. Helps prevent the card sagging/twisting (Google graphics card sagging for plenty discussions and pics of it). It's rare and can take a while but sure can happen.
2. Helps a little toward keeping the card cooler (doesn't do much, but every little helps).
3. Looks cool.
