Budget:
$15,000 apx.

Expectations:
The ultimate desktop workstation

Usage:
3D visualization and VR development, plus ordinary office tasks.

Special Needs:
Must be compatible with forthcoming Dell UltraSharp 8K display and dual-boot Windows 10 Pro and Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Saved Ticket #: 1633810

Specifications:
Aventum 3 Pro with 12-core Xeon and one Nvidia Titan X

My main question is, what would people recommend as the graphics card(s)? I looked up the Nvidia Titan X specs and it does support the Dell 8K resolution at 60 Hz (7680x4320). Should I use one card or do SLI with two cards? I don't think I need the separate HPC cards, and anyway I don't think I can afford those. The 8K display may not work properly in Linux to start, but I can live with that. Thanks!

I've yet to look into 8K, but with 4K needing at least a 1080Ti, I would guess an sli setup would be needed.

An 8 k display is like rendering 4x 4K display, so it will take a lot of graphics card horsepower to drive.
