I recently purchased an RTX 2060 to upgrade my sons DS Lynx. He currently has a GTX 1650. The Lynx only has one card slot, and the newer card requires an 8 pin power source. Do I need to purchase a secondary power source or can power be allocated? Thank you in advance.

What’s the power supply? You should’ve gotten extra power supply cords that weren’t used when you got the computer. Probably an 8-pin cord in the box if it wasn’t used initially.

EVGA - W1 Series 600W ATX 12V/EPS 12V 80 Plus Power Supply - Black     I checked the box and it didn’t appear to come with the 8 pin.

That psu has 2 x 8pin (6+2).
The PCIE power connection cable has a pin that you join together (6+2) to make the 8-pin connector. Just remove the 1650 and replace with the 2060, join the connector together and plug into the card.
that will be a great addition to the system. Enjoy. Smile

I found the PCI cables hidden below, graphics card installed and he has it running at 200-240FPS.   Thank you.
