Graphics cards suddenly stopped performing

Ok so the issue I am having is that my graphics cards suddenly stopped performing anywhere near their expected levels.

I have 2 Radeon 5870's in crossfire.

I did a stress test on the cards, processor, and memory all passed.
Also have run 3dMark11 on each card individually both in different PCI-E slots.

Currently I am using a 5870 from my wife's computer and rerunning the 3dMark11 on it.

I'm wondering if this could be a motherboard problem such as the PCI-E slots being fried or could it be a power supply issue, because after the first test with my wife's card I'm still getting the same results. Is there any good way to check this and isolate the problem so I can figure out what parts I need to replace?
