ground shipping experience

Ground shipping depends on a number of factors. Key factor being "where do you live?" IIRC, the standard for ground shipment (freight) was something like 3 days if you're local and 7 days if your across the country.

Also, what did you order? That is important if you've ordered the Aventum flagship model, or any other palletized unit. Some machines are so heavy and/or delicate that they have to have their own pallets. These machines, at my last view, were only shipped on Friday as they traveled with actual freight companies and not regular shippers.

Will they deliver on the holiday? We have no way of knowing. My inclination (after 30 years in the cargo business, retired) is to say 'no' but things are changing with the new online economy.

So, my guess without knowing what you ordered or where yo live could be anywhere from 3 days (local, light, common delivery) to 10 days (across the country heavy freight.) Even longer if you're with a freight company which counts only business days... weekends and holidays excluded.

My apologies for such a broad answer but without the specifics that is all I can offer. Personally, when I ordered my first machine I chose "pick up" because I lived within reasonable driving distance.

That's why we need specifics. I offered a 'worst-case scenario' and I see you're already worried that is the facts. I apologise for that. I did not intend for you to take my estimates as Digital Storm gospel.. it is just an overview of the shipping industry as we know it.

Now that we have specifics (Lumos, Major City, East Coast) we can narrow it down even further. This will probably ship FEDEX GROUND from Gilroy, CA, about 30 miles south of San Jose. According to this FEDEX GROUND delivery guide below it will probably be 4-5 days from shipment to delivery. Watch your email for shipment notifications and tracking information to determine your arrival date.

My order hasn't shipped yet should be going out this coming week. I'm still trying to decide if I want to switch to air. The price estimate is pretty high like over $200 but for whatever reason overnight is cheaper than 2 day air so I'm not sure if the calculator is giving me a correct estimate. May just bite the bullet and wait on ground.
