So i play mostly WoW nothing crazy, but i'd like to run it at top specs.
2000$ budget 1)Could you please make any suggestions of what should be upgraded or where i should put my money? I was told GPU, CPU, and HDD were important. I got 2 HD's with a raid 0 setup which i don't fully understand. i'd appreciate it if someone explained how it would affect my computer or if i should just get 1 HD. 2)I'd like to know if i need a better PSU for my hd 5870 1 gig and if my cooling sysyem is ok. 3)lastly, is this setup going to kick ass or fail horribly? thanks in advance for any advice given, i appreciate your help -chris here's my setup:$1859.00 Chassis: CM storm scout CPU: Intel i7 930 2.8GHz (quad core) Motherboard: EVGA x58 micro edition System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600 MHz Digital storm certified Performance series Power Supply: 750 watt digital storm certified Hard Drive Set 1: 2x (1.5TB seagate barracuda 7200 rpm) Raid: HD 1 set to raid 0 config Video Card: 1x ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB Cooling: h20 stage 2 - asetek liquid cooling (120mm radiator) Chassis Airflow: standard OC: 3.3 to 3.9 (as it suggests) |

What resolution will you be playing at?
1) Raid 0 will not give you any performance increase in WoW. 3TB of space seems a bit exctessive unless you have a ton of Blu-Ray/DVD rips. 1 HDD would probably be antiquate. 2) a 750w PSU will easily support that setup, xfire in the future will not be possible without upgrading to a bigger PSU. 3) It should run WoW in 90% of situations with max graphics / AA at resolutions lower than 1920x1200. Change your cooling to Noctua it will cool far better than the Astek liquid cooling you have chosen. |

change 930 to 920 to save a few bux and change the 750 to corsair brand. i think you should get a smaller HDD even if u want two i think 2 1TB's is enough

congrats dst's build is solid. this computer has room to grow in the future... so when it is time to upgrade send it back and change what needs to be changed. it is much cheaper then buying a new one.
one thing you may want to consider changing: change the hdd to 1tb it performs like the 10k raptors and add in a ssd when you can. clone hdd1 to ssd and push the 1tb into slot 2 for data storage after you wipe it out. this would greatly increase the performance of your system. especially if you would like to be branching out from wow. |

the 1TB would be better I guess but he can always upgrade that, I didn't add it in cause it was over the budget, but if you can the 1TB is good advice from Raif.
