Topic: GTX 1650 4GB Over Clocking Advice Posted: 06 Jul 2021 at 9:06am |
Hello everyone. I have a rig with a GTX 1650 4GB GPU and I've been messing around with some overclock setting. My main goal from posting this thread is to get an ABSOLUTE thermo value that I should avoid. I use HW monitor to keep tabs on my values. That application allows you to view the "GPU Temperature" and the "Hot Spot" I would like to know everyone's opinion on which one I should be focusing on mainly and what it's limit should be. I'd also like to hear what everyone's opinion on what the general overclock setting should be near on this card. General knowledge and tips regarding things you think a new but somewhat educated person on PCs and overclocking should know! I appreciate everyone's comments in advanced.

Hello, just wanted to ask is there any GTX 1650 users out there that actually overclocked their GPU (and what are your values), and is there any stuff to look into while overclocking to avoid destroying the GPU?

Mine currently is. The values are 160 on core clock and 1200 on memory clock, max out power and temp limit. The PC is in a very cold AC room so those setting may he too hot for you so just monitor your temp. My average temp was 71 and the max Hotspot temp was 83 after heavy load on warzone.

From what I understand, you cannot cause massive harm while running overclocked because the GPU has thermo throttling installed, so if you are over heating the GPU it will turn performance down before harm occurs. Overclocking will however speed up wear and tear over time. From every bit of advice I've received, they have all said you will replace your GPU due to newer titles and applications needing more performance well before you need to replace it from the wear and tear of running over clocked. |
