If I bought my system with the GTX 260+ (216 Streams) as shown on the configurator, would kind of card would I expect? I guess my question is, do I need to emphasize or place a special order for a certain type? Or is this newest GTX 260 that is out besides the Superclocked? Thanks guys.

Is the GTX 260 with 216 Streams already superclocked or do you have to ask for it with a $50 charge or whatever?

There is a EVGA version that is already superclocked. I would assume you could ask for them to put that one in.
You can view it here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130400&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Video+Cards-_-EVGA-_-14130400 Edited by Slater - 16 Dec 2008 at 9:28pm |

if you are ordering from DS its not, but it can be OCed with the tool I mentioned, you can also request an OC version of the card which will be more expensive or you can ask DS to OC it for you.

So EVGA's 90 day upgrade is just for something that is brand new after you purchase what you want? So by this theory, I should be able to get the EVGA GTX 295 for free if I get it in February? I read the benchmarks for the regular 260 Core 216, I am not going to bother OC'ing it if I end up getting the original Core 216.

The EVGA Step Up program is for any retail EVGA card you purchase. You have 90 days to step up to another card if you decide to due to new releases or some other reason.
You pay the price difference between the two cards and the shipping / handling fees. For example, if you purchased a GTX 260 Core 216 for $200 on December 30th. You have until March 31st to decide to step up to another card. The GTX 295 releases on January 8th and it retails for $500. You would pay the $300 difference between the GTX 260 and GTX 295 a long with shipping/handling. And no you can not abuse this step up program. Your new card you receive from the step up program will not qualify for another step up. |

Ok, cool. Is it whatever the price is on EVGA's website at the time you want to buy the new card? Let's say the price of the GTX 285 drops from $500 (when it's released) to $415 (when I exchange it before 90 days). Is the price difference from the original card subtracted from the release date price of the new card or the price of the new card when I want to exchange for it? The price for the new card can drop, correct? So the price of the new card is adjustable?

So I can't exchange for a 280 in 90 days? It has something to be released within 90 days of the original purchase.

You can step up to any card that is more expensive than your current (or you can do it for less expensive cards but you won't get refunded).
The price of the new card will be what is listed on www.evga.com at the time of the step up. |
