I just saw the GTX 280 for the same price as a GTX 275. Would you guys suggest getting the newer card or older *better* for the same price?
Thanks

The only reason to get the FTW edition or other factory overclocked editions is if you want a guarentee that said card will function at the level its listed at. Chances are decent you can do FTW or high speeds with a stock card, all your paying for in those editions is a guarentee of functionality at the listed overclocked speeds.

the ftw edition will have a few more fps, and the 1792MB might give 2 or 3 more fps. far cry 2, now teh 1792MB version is not there but trust me its no different then the oc version at best:
just go with a regular one and save your money

I've saved alot of money coming here. Not just buying rig from DS but from the good advice.
GTX 285 2GB memory was just released.
They release these cards faster than I can research them. No one seems very interested in them surprisingly enough.

When I buy the 275's I guess the next big update will be the 300s. The card companies make a lot of money for very small increases of 2-3fps between the 275 vs 285. We can overclock a 275 and get the same or better stats than the 285. 275 just seems like a win for everyone.

There are a couple games out there right now that DO use more then 1GB of Vram, So having the 2GB will come useful in those instances. Ird be something id consider if i had money to burn and not many other places to burn it into. If not then its not worth it to get a 2GB version of the 285.
1 game i know for sure that uses over 1GB of Vram is GTA4 PC.
Personally youll be better off with a 275, and then upgrading in 2 years, by then the tech should of advanced a decent amount to make paying another several hundred on a Vcard useful.

Another question and I know it's stupid. The 275's come with an SLI Bridge correct? Do I need to order one seperately? |

That blows lol. Do you know where I can buy online and have it by Friday? I will have the cards on Friday. The only connector I have is for the 9800GX2 and I think that would be too big |

Your motherboard should of came with a SLI connector. Especially if you bought a DS machine they include it in the package of extras you get. If not ill sell you a spare one of mine....only 2 easy payments of $39.95.

Ok that's good. It looked so much bigger than the other SLI Bridges I saw. I thought it was made specifically for the dual cards (9800GX2, GTX295)

if its a Tri sli then it can't be specifically for 9800x2 and 295 cause you can't Tri sli 3 of those, 2 of them would be in quad sli already.
