Even with that they are both still fairly overpriced vs the ATI cards. I dunno if they will be able to lower them too much more, they have to be expensive to make with those massive dies. |

Nvidia messed up this round. Nothing they can do but try to get whatever they can out of it =\
The Radeon HD4870 when overclocked rivals the GTX 280 and the HD4870X2 (rumored to be $499) will dominate it... |

I am not sure it was so much nVidia messed up as ATI has actually got a card that is offering real competition to nVidia for the first time in ages making there actually be a choice to be made.
Past few generations have resoundingly been won by nVidia, this time it looks like pending tweaks to beta/early release drivers ATI has a victory by at least right now a small but still significant margin. Dave - For one glad to see competition back in the video card market.... |

hmm..the 280 had a much sharper drop then i thought......thats almost in the range of not a too terrible price...now it makes GX2s look like crap haha.
