GTX 280 drops again to $449 and 9800 GTX+ to $199.

Recently NVIDIA dropped the price of its video card in order to propose better competition to AMD . Today appeared the first benchmark of R700 AMD card (radeon HD 4870 X2) (our preview can be checked here ). Since the performance of the new AMD card was fair enough , Faster than GTX 280 in 99% of case (except Crysis) . NVIDIA had to drop a bit their price . Here is the new NVIDIA update :

* The GeForce GTX 280 price reduced to $449 .
* GeForce GTX 260 price reduced to $299
* GeForce 9800 GTX+ price reduced $199

Now the GTX 260 is positioned as the HD 4870 , just like the 9800GTX+ and the radeon HD 4850 . The GTX 280 price is now lower than the HD 4870 X2 . Now let us wait for AMD answer . We expect a serious price war .

Now if AMD can do the same with CPUs itd be a great time for owning a computer.
