After playing 30 my 280's temp is about 60 degrees.  That is with the cards fan set at 80%.  I locked up in Fear 2.  After reboot card just above 60 degrees.  Is that too hot?
Anyone else having the same issue?
Thanks,
Ace

Where would I check CPU temps?   (Try not to laugh)
The CPU is water cooled. It is a 9775.

My 280's hit 80 degrees on a regular basis, and they seem to work fine.

Use HW Monitor to check your temps.

60c is not hot at all for a card like that. My card hits about 66c when gaming/folding.

After 30 minutes of Fear 2 the CPU temp is 60 degrees. It has the frostbite water cooler.  Does that sound OK?
Thanks for the help.

Your problem sounds like it is somewhere else. Hell my GTX280's idle at 55C.

If it isnt happening an any other hardcore graphic games, it might be just a problem with the program itself.

I havent and dont plan on playing Fear 2 anytime so sorry i cant help you out any with testing it with my cards as well.

After using the HW program and checking the temps on the machine I too believe it was a game problem.  So I guess I need to get my 2nd 280 to make sure!
Thanks,
Ace

My 3 GTX285s all run when under a full load at about... 60c, so i dont see why yours would have any problems.

CPU on the other hand runs at 45c under full load with overclock to 4.0ghz.

To be honest, the most important thing in a gaming system is game play. If your games are playing fine, no performance issues, no lag, then, by all means enjoy it and use it.

The temperatures on your video card are perfectly fine and normal. They are designed to withstand tremendous amounts of heat.

Not only that, it's very difficult for us to compare each others temperatures because there are so many factors:
1. The temperature of the room
2. Where the unit is placed
3. Your chassis
4. Your configuration
5. What type of cooling you have selected
6. If you have any overclocks

Etc... Never the less, call us or send us a message if you need help.

Thanks.  I do understand what you are saying at it all makes sense.  I just wanted to make sure that if I had a problem I would address it before it did damage.  I would like to put in a 2nd 280 but if I have to run the 1st 280 at 80% fan speed all the time to keep it cool, I did not want to add to the heat in the case even though it came with the frostbite CPU water cooler.  I even thought of adding a fourth fan (the scythe fan controller has 1 not used) to help move air.  I was told by DS that there is no place in the 950 to put a fourth fan.  So that is where the concern came from.

Great forum!
Thanks for the reply's.
