I recently got my DS pc with two GTX 285 equipped when I plugged everything up I noticed that my moniters res is kinda weird. My recent PC with 8800GT would reach a res of 1920 x 1200. With the new PC it only goes up to 1680 x 1050. It also has alot of strange resolutions inbetween that I've never seen before like; 960x600, 1088x612, 1600x900 and those look awful.
What is this? lol . Can I get my old resolutions back?

If you got it hooked up to the right place in the back then you got a problem with your drivers, what size/brand/model is this monitor you have?
so when you go to windows display settings highest res you see available is 1600 x 1200? Edited by DST4ME - 24 May 2009 at 6:30pm |

ViewSonic VA2026w 20in Wide 5ms DVI LCD
This is odd, i dont remember this screen being native 1680x1050 my sli 8800gt would view 1920 x 1200 on the moniter. So I guess it was my 8800gt's that were weird?

ya the 1600 is your native res for that monitor, I think if you go into your Nvidia cp and check the option to show all resolutions even the unsupported ones then you will see 1900 x 1200.
your native res is not dependent on GPU, its based on your monitor, are you sure you are not mistaken and the 8800 were running at 1600 also? unfortunately this is not a topic I'm a great expert at, my knowledge here is limited, I'm not great with monitors. |
