I only recently really started to notice this, but I think it has probably been that way since I got the system about a month ago.

Here is an example: http://service.futuremark.com/home.action?resultId=1931946&resultType=19

The CPU gets fabulous scores thanks to the amazing OC DS did on it.  However, the GTX295 performs hideously.  I am noticing this in games as well that it should be crushing.  Any thoughts?  I am actually running a rather old driver due to some compatibility issues with Star Trek Online's engine.  However, I did upgrade to the newest and got similar results.

your benchmark is not a valid run, basically cheating, you used the graphics card to perform part of the CPU test, so your score looks really good, but when you run the benchmark properly and submit a legal score, you will see the CPU score go down a bunch.  turn off PPU in the options, to run a legal score.

Well seeing as I don't own the software, I can't actually change the settings.  Honestly not concerned with the CPU score.  I simply mentioned it looked fine.  Either way, from what I am finding out and around the web it looks like near the 20k mark is where a 295 should be falling.  Especially since the version DS put in my machine is an off brand I have never heard of and has very tame clock speeds compared to the more major brands such as BFG and EVGA.  It just still feels like it should be pushing out better FPS in STO, which really shouldn't really be a problem game for a GTX 295 and a heavily OCed i7 920.

I am just saying that your CPU score is not fine, it actually would be cut by about 60%-70% if it was legal, which will drop your score total a ton.
I doubt it has clocks different than other brands, the reference board is the same, no matter who puts there name on it.

that is strange your gtx 295 is performing not as it should be. mine is running well since i have installed it in my DS system (DS pc's about 2.5 months old and i didn't order the gtx 295 with DS but with Tiger Direct). regardless if your gtx is brand name or not, it should be able to run generally all the latest games with good frame rates, especially with your overclocked i7-920.

i don't know what else you can do. i don't think the evga precision is compatible without the 'evga' stamped on the gpu, but nonetheless the gtx 295 should perform top-notch as is, overclocking not being even considered.

The 295 is internal SLI, is he perhaps having trouble on games that do not support SLI? Because without SLI it is only as good as a what, like a 260, 275, or somewhere inbetween?

Yeah, it seems it is running at the reference speeds.  I really need to benchmark it with some single player FPSs since MMOs are not the best for testing.  Course that doesn't help me much since that is primarily what I play.
