Hi,

I just got my new pc and i started playing Rift. I have the game video settings at 2560 x 1600 and everything set to Ultra.

I have 2 evga superclocked GTX 570's in SLI.

My video card temps are hitting around 75-80C when there's alot going on.

Is this too hot ?

The fans are set at 40% with a gradient increase as the temps go up. Should i change my fan settings ?

Thanks for any help.  Smile

your fan should be at 80 - 100% when temps are around 80c.

your temps get into the hot zone and not good pass 85c.

570's max support temp is 97c.

your temps are fine for being under full load.

those temps are fine, i wouldn't worry

dst- with the stock fan profile 80c is no where near 80-100% on the fans. Its more like 60%

I meant that he should have it set himself like that, so that the load temps are lower then 80c.

I should have been more clear.

New fan profile in MSI Afterburner works great. These are the new settings i went with and now my temps are around 55-65C instead of 75-80C at full load.

Temp/Fan Speed
30C/40%
40C/50%
50C/60%
60C/70%
70C/90%
80C/100%

Anything wrong with the fan settings i have ?

Thanks again !!

Did you set it as a curve or step? Double clicking the graph changes it. Step will shoot up fan speeds to the next preset when that temp range is achieved, curve will gradually move it up. i.e., 55% on step will still set fan at 60%, while on curve it'll be at 55% according to your fan profile.

Also, you might want to play around with Temp Hysteresis a bit if it's switching around too much. Lets a bit of wiggle room between switches I believe.

I have it set on a curve.  It seems to gradually go up and down as i don't notice any major jumps up or down.

Don't sweat it...I was playing Rift earlier and when things got busy I hit 78 degrees on a single GTX480. The Fermi cards are made to run warm, and especially since you're in SLI it isn't that bad. I remember hitting 90ish before I adjusted my fan profile, and added a 120mm to my HAF-X gpu shroud.
