the gtx 570, overall its nothing new except for a few things
basically replaces the 480
lower power consumption
lower noise
470 currently: $257
480 currently: $469
580 currently: $674
 
570 is claiming to release at about $350... which is great news for price/performance as it beats the 480 in pretty much everything and gives the same or more performance at less noise/heat for less money
 
how DSO prices this will majorly impact the release's effectiveness

Very nice!
It looks like they added it to the config already for about $86 less than the 480 and $279 less than the 580!! I think this is the card I've been waiting for Drooling

claiming was about the dollar amount its releasing for,
they could say 350 and then jack it through the roof tomorrow

hah, just making sure. I'm hoping they thought ahead and made a giant stockful, since I'm going to assume that this is what's really going to sell. the 580 is sort of out of range for a lot of non-extreme high end system users I guess, so the 570 would be the next thing in line.

So the 570 is sitting nicely between the 480 and the 580?  I mean in reguards to price for performance.  Looking to order my rig in a few weeks and will be watching very closely to see how the 570 compares and does review wise.  It would be great for me to downgrade the 580 in my hypothetical computer to the 570 and spend the difference on something else :)

right now the 570 essentially replaces the 480:
 
around the same or better power
less noise
$90 or so less money
 
so way more bang for your buck
really, right now, the 480 is pretty much obsolete unless it somehow comes lower than the 570 in price
