Hi I've been reading up on the 680 and it seems to me that the difference is not great so should i get a 680 or save the money and get a 670

Overclocked 670s often perform as well as or better than reference 680s. For a single 1080p monitor, most people will only ever need a 670.
Having said that, I won't settle for anything less than an overclocked 680 for the new system I'm getting when my tax refund arrives. |

Hi Brud2000,
Here is a link that compares different graphics cards in different games at different resolutions. I have it set to compare a stock GTX670 to a stock GTX680 for you. I hope this heps

I had a question on these same GPUs, but it was on SLI 670MX or a single GTX 680M. Would it be better to save money and stick with the SLI or fork out another $70 or so for the GTX 680?

Little late here but since it came up, as the link Asangard posted shows, a 670 will do about the same maybe 1 to 6 fps difference depending on game and res, so at the end, 670 is the best choice for power/cost. But for 3D I would go 680 since every frame counts there for now. @InfiniteMind, laptop gpus are a bit different, and I'm not that great in that area, on a pc, if you need the power sli 670 is about twice as good as a 680,, but laptop gpus can be different, I'm sure the 670m in sli is still more powerful than the single 680m, but by how much and do you really need that much power I'm not sure about, do the games you play even utilize sli? No I don't think they do. I mostly just play LoL now until I wait for Marvel Heroes and I play a few single player games like Torchlight II and Darksiders II. The only graphics intensive game that I think I own is Skyrim.

Well if you have no use for sli then single gpu is the way to go I guess. now should you get 670m or 680m, I would look around for a creditable place that has proper benchmarks for games, and see if the 680 is worth the extra money, if the difference is like 5 or 6 fps then its not worth the extra money.

How about when it comes down to the noise and temperatures of the graphics card and you want to get the most quiet card with a load temperature that doesn't usually go into the 70 degrees Celsius,
Is it best to go with a graphics card that has a GPU of a 670 but with the cooler of a 680 like a 670 FTW from EVGA or a 670 FTW Signature 2 from EVGA that has 2 fans on it. . |

Oced gpus and ftw versions of gpus have a higher failure rate.
temps below 80c are perfectly fine. your gpu temps will be mainly dependent on your room temp and pc interior temp. if you truly want quiet gpu then you need lc, you can always stick an after market air cooler on your gpu also. most 680s come with a single fan, some brands will stick more then one fan on there, if you look most evga ones have a single fan on them. also when under heavy load your fans will be running on high and small fans will produce good amound of noise under full load. |

Any good kinds of LC or after market air coolers out there that you would recommend to quiet down the gpu for a 670 or a 680.

Well is your gpu loud now?
as for coolers you want a good waterblock for the gpu and a good rad, for rad xspc "Rx" series are good rads and I think xspc makes a decent block for gpus also. as for after market fan coolers, I was never big fan of those so I couldn't tell you. |

Thats always a good idea, do you currently have a issue with current card's noise level?
