Looks like it uses 2 six pin connectors nvidia just cant make up its mind on what you need is it six pin or eight pin.
 
295 is only 100$ more and offer a lot more power for the price though.  This cards uses the 8 pin and six pin power connectors like the previous 200 seris cards http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=gtx295
 
Nvidia cards.

It is a little stranger than you say about the connections.  Some of the cards are listed with two six pin commectors, but others like the EVGA list a six and an eight pin requirement.
