So I am getting my second 580 today for SLI and plan on putting my Air Duct back in my HAF X case for the SLI cards. I have a Asus P8p67 Deluxe also. I have a few questions though.

1) I am using GT AP-15 for the fan in my Air Duct, is that a good choice?

2) I also have the stock 200mm Side Panel fan on intake. Should that be change to exhaust or stay the same? Or should I just remove it? (Front 230mm fan on intake, rear on exhaust, and 2x 200mm fans on the top on exhaust)

3) What's the proper placement of the Air Duct? I've heard you should place it slightly above the HDD bay? How do you measure that?

4) Lastly, should I even bother with the Air Duct? will it make a noticable difference in temps for my cards?

LOL man just about any forum I visit you posted this same thread, lol.

for the haf x I like the side and front blowing in, while the two tops, suck air out, this way the side fans is blowing air right over the gpus.

That's correct, I have the HAF-X w/ GTX 480 in SLI I tried the different fan directions and watched the temps. It is omptimal for the side fan, and the front fan to blow inwards and the two top fans in exhaust direction.

I personally did not install the air-duct fan for the GPU's and i'm avg about 45c-50c on GPU1 and 40c-45c on GPU2

Let me know what temps you're at w/ the air-duct fan.

Is that on idle temps? I installed the air duct with a AP-15 fan and I get 39-41c idle on both GPUs and around 85c on full load. Prior to that without the air duct I was getting 49-51c on GPU1 idle and 43c on GPU2 idle, and around 95c on loads. So the air duct was a massive help for me.

Correct, Idle temps. On full load i've observed them to hit around 75c-80c on air. Could you kindly post a pic of your GPU's w/ the air-duct fan on? I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Ok, here you go. As you can see I actually had to break off one of the bars of the air duct as it was blocking my 2nd card's power supply (lol I know I didn't do a good job).

Very cool thank you for the picture. I'm now somewhat inclined to install one now!
