Fairly convinced to get a HAF X based computer after talking to Brian and reading more about it. Seems popular around here too.   I'd like a computer that is very quiet for normal use, like photography, and then very powerful for gaming on a 1440p monitor.

Recently bought two Vanquish level 3 for my sons, and they love them. But sitting here typing this post, the noise of one of them is really bothering me. Its very loud.   Is a HAF X going to be a lot quieter?

Hi sw001...  That's an excellent build.  Not much to say., other than ..go for it.
I do like Western Digital Caviar HDD better, though.

As far as noise....  The HafX with Noctua is pretty quiet.  I'm guessing that at idle and web browsing, etc the HafX will be quieter, but under the stress of gaming, when your sli 770's kick in, it might be noisier.  The video cards are usually the noisiest part of a gaming rig under stress.

Not sure you'll get stage 2 oc, with the new Haswell cpu with air cooling, but DS will let you know.  Not much difference in performance between a 4.3 and 4.6 vcore.

Looks great,   Good Luck. Big%20Smile

WD & Samsung are usually the preferred choice by most of us here on the forums (over Seagate & Corsair). I would just chose the OC1 for your CPU. Not much difference and a lot less OC issues. The Haswell does have a harder time OC above 4.4... Otherwise looks like a solid build!

I agree with fstcvc for the SSD go with Samsung and save $7 while getting a better performance. They don't carry a 3TB WD hard drive so, unless you decide going with a 2TB makes sense you should be fine with the Seagate.
