I should have come here before I ordered, but I ordered the machine below on 6/1. I chose DS on the advice of my son who is a serious gamer and he is anxious to get my current machine. I didn't really have a budget. I will use it for general purpose stuff, but it will be nice for things that I do that benefit from power (photo and video editing, speech recognition software (Dragon)).
If you guys see anything I should have done, but did not, let me know. 1. If your photo/video editing uses or if you have use for 32GB then its fine otherwise overkill as in waste of money.
Gaming needs no more then 8GB right now that is more then enough, for some what general/heavy use 16GB, heavy editing 32-64 GB 2. your ram speed is way high for no reason, which means your timings are slow. there is a trade off with ram right now, higher speed = lower timings. Timing is more important. 3. for that kind of a build I would go with rampage mobo 4. for that kind of a build I would go with m.2 950 pro ssd. 5. what res are you/son gaming at? aka what is the native res of the monitor you gonna use with this pc? the other stuff as far as cooling is good, watch your vcore on stage 2 oc, if its too high, under long term heavy use could cut the life of the cpu short. But don't freekout, that would be a vcore of 1.45 -1.48 or higher. Stage one oc with 4.4GHz would be a great oc to have with a good vcore. Edited by DST4ME - 02 Jul 2016 at 8:56pm |

Thanks for the comments DST4ME. Finally after a month and a day, my order has moved to Stage 6. Looks like the 10-15 days order to ship time is more like 25 days in my case.
