Great card choice also. Unless you are good at doing it yourself, you should let DS OC your GTX 780 also. If they can OC it to like 1070mhz, it actually performs faster than a GTX Titan at reference speeds.
I was just looking at the Hailstorm II myself, checking out the new Hydrolux. Did you order this right before that came out? If so, might wanna go check it out. Looks like Digital Storm made their own version of the aquaero system... and I'm loving the look of it. Can't wait to read a review from someone with it. Awesome build, I'm already excited for you. Congrats! |

Ah, I see they only offer it on multi gpu setup's though... so nevermind. Either way, I must of missed the memo of you hinting towards it being released, Alex... you sneaky devil. I am loving the look of the software with it... and the LED changing depending on temps and work load... awesome!

HydoLux looks similar to the light/fan controller system on the Aventum II. I emailed Alex asking more about this - as I'm still patiently awaiting a backordered part and mine isn't fully completed yet. Dang you Meller for finding something new that interests me!

HydroLux is the next evolution of what we had for the Aventum II control software. The control board itself is similar, but the software is vastly different.

STI Racer - Congratulations on your new Hailstorm II and welcome to the club. It is a great system that beckons for upgrades and add-ons. The CPU+Chipset+GPU liquid cooler is real beauty. Of course Alex has been adding stuff to mine (and fst-cvc's) as new technology comes out. Enjoy your new Rig!

@meller ya I ordered it Monday night and it wasn't released yet. sucks because I wasn't aware of it and I wanted the chipset cooling with it originally
@Alex how much would the Hydrolux system cost and is it still possible to add to my build? Edited by sti racer - 30 Aug 2013 at 9:45am |

@meller I didn't get the gpu overclocked and I'm planning to run sli in the future with another 780. wouldn't the second card have to be overclocked too?

You can email Alex @ [email protected] to request the add-on. I know I did already (and I think so did Subxero!! ).
As far OC'ing the GPU, the 780 is pretty awesome in stock form and still rather close to the Titan. If you're only going to be air cooling the GPU, I would leave it at stock speeds to extend it's lifespan. |

Just contact our team to change to HydroLux. If it has already been built with different hardware, you may have to pay a re-build fee as well.
Here is a quick break down from the configurator on the changes you will need to do: 1. H20: HydroLux Level 1: Digital Storm Exotic Custom Cooling System (CPU + Chipset) [+$527] 2. Digital Storm HydroLux Thermal Management Control Board & Software [+$99] 3. Digital Storm HydroLux RGB LED Lighting System (Requires HydroLux Control Board & Software) [+$0] |

@Alex would there be a rebuild fee if I wanted to get the 270mm tank? I wanted it from the beginning but whoever I called said 150mm was the biggest one available

The system itself is more expensive, so even if it was launched 5 days before you ordered, you would be spending $600+ than you did right now.
Yes we can, but if the system is built and fluid added, we have to remove the fluid, take apart the system and re-do it. It's not that much for re-building it, roughly $50-$75. |

@Alex honestly if my system wasn't already getting tested then I probably would have upgraded and its more of a want. Does that price include the tank to or is it just for rebuild? And thank for your patience I appreciate it

It kind of reminds me of the aquaero systems. I haven't fully read about everything hydrolux does, but if it is like Aquaero, then it monitors more than just fans. It monitors temps coming it and going out, flow, liquid temps, etc... I love Aquaero addon's, so if Hydrolux does pretty much the same, that's awesome! Plus, as I said before, I really like the LED control to reflect work load and temp of the system.

There's always gonna be new cool stuff that'll come out after you order. My system's been updated so many times that I've lost count (I'm sure Alex hasn't ) and I know Subxero has made many upgrades as well... The timing on the new HydroLux couldn't have been better (well, it could have been out a few months ago!) as I was able to add it to my build for a reasonable price...

but it definitely raises the cool factor im also trying to avoid going down your path I started with a budget of 2000-2500 then rose to 3000 and jumped to 4000 Edited by sti racer - 31 Aug 2013 at 7:17am |

I think the aquaero system is more advance but I don't know how much it costs. Imo the hydrolux looks like a primitive version of aquaero that almost everyone can use.
but its never to late to upgrade in the future |

That's where my budget originally started ($2500) but as my expectation of system performance changed i upped my budget to match the setup it was going to be attached to... You can follow the progression (obsession ) of my build here and see pics of what it'll be attached to . Yours is still a great build and where I was at one point with mine. I know it will give you tons of enjoyment going forward! |

Oh yea, from the looks of the the aquaero's system is definitely much more advanced. It'd be great if DS offered it on it's water cooling builds, but the hydrolux does have what appears to be similar features and I think it's a nice touch.
