    Posted: 30 Apr 2009 at 5:20pm
Hello All,

I am planning to add a hard drive to my new DS machine (HAF/750W/i7920).

Question is do I need to order a retail kit or OEM?

Thanks in advance

What are you going to use the drive for? I can help you pick a drive, if you let me know what you want out of it.
OEM will be just a hard drive, retail is the same hard drive, but comes in a box, with a manual, screws, cable.

It will be an internal drive to back up several hours of HD video, music and photos.

Thanks

if its storage then why raid? back up needs to be on a different HDD then the OS drive and its best to be on one drive, cause in raid when one drive fails you lose all data and with 2 drives now your chances of something going wrong has doubled.

This is an excellent drive for HD storage http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284

continious read and write speed right at the speed of a Velociraptor. 2Tb drives are too much $$ at the moment.
