Greetings all,
I was looking to upgrade my "storage" drive from 500 gb to possibly (2) 1 TB 64mb cache, hard drives in a raid 0, since I will load some games, since my OS drive is a corsair 128 gb SSD, which I would like to take the games off that drive. Would it make sense to buy another SSD or 1 or 2 TB drive(s). Any suggestions, opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mark |

when you say would it make sense, what do you mean by that
do you feel like your system is actually slow and needs this change?
dragoon will jump on you for picking corsair over intel ssd, ill tell you that much
to me if your going for storage stay away from raid, youre cutting your space in half, if you have stuff that sensitive you need a hard copy imo

I have an external drive which I keep all my sensitive material on, so I would say I want a bit more performance from my drives. I got the Corsair when I had DS make my rig last July, just want to speed it up a bit, plus expand on the storage, if that makes sense, thanks for the input !ender

If you want fast get Intel SSD space. You just can't get HDDs fast even with RAID setups, they don't scale well. But games in general don't benefit from even SSD speeds very much (some do more than others), so you're probably not going to get much of a benefit one way or the other.

Thanks Dragoon...I think I will just pick up a plain old 2TB drive for my storage issues, and will keep an eye on prices for a SDD upgrade =)
Regards! |
