Hard drive wipe and reformat?

So I put old hard drive on my new computer, well its over a year old. Old drive had Windows vista on it. The drive shows up, when I open it shows folders, but nothing in them. Anyways, I just want to wipe this drive and then install Windows 7 from disk that came with this, my digital storm computer. I am doing this as My ssd hard drive and other hdd are getting full so I want to move stuff to the old drive.
Can I do this? Thanks

Why not just leave your OS on the SSD for quick boots and move data to the latest drive , after reformat?

Sounds good, I am an idiot, so just wipe the old drive and it would be good to go?

Well like I said, its a year old so already behind the times.

Got the ODE level 2
i7-2600 3.4 overclocked to 4-4.4
8GB RAM
120GB SSD
H60 Liquid cooler
Nvidia GTX 580 1.5GB
DVD/CD player writer
Thats about it nothing too special
Been working great had to replace top front control panel as fans stopped working
Had a 750GB hd from last computer so thought this would help with storage
reformatted it and working great.

Thanks for showing us your specs.     I still have a ODE lvl1 from July' 2011.   I too had to replace the top i/o panel because the fan control died. I temporarily hooked the fans to the psu periph cables with adapters.   

Glad the reformat went well.
