Hey guys I figured I'd ask the general public before taking it to Customer Service as I'm not much of a technical wizard :P

I think I have been getting Hard Drive corruption on a rather regular basis.. I will install COD4, Crysis, Wow, etc, and the games work great for about a week, then I will start getting errors (Game faults and closes out or it won't even let me start the game saying 'Please Reinstall').  However now I can't even install Wow..  I've tried both CD installation and Digital Download and during the install sequence it keeps giving me corruption errors.

I've run ever test that comes with the computer itself and everything says my computer is in perfect shape.  I've also installed the latest drivers.

Should I just try reformatting and starting anew?  When searching for solutions I have read that a lot of WD Raptors have issues..  maybe that's the cause?  Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

boot to recovery console from your vista CD and run chkdsk command on your harddrive.

if you are getting harddrive corruption then its most likely your harddrive

if you don't know how to do that, let me know and I will help you

I had those same problems before and it was bad ram....

Have you run Memtest ?   I would start with that...

Plus you can go to the Western Digital site and download a tool used for checking their drives....

You were exactly right!  I downloaded memtest and sure enough upon running it I received an error about a Pair not being able to store values correctly.  After isolating each stick and taking out the faulty one, I have not had a single issue!!

You are totally my favorite person right now :)  You have no idea how much of a headache I've been having over this issue.

Thanks again! :D
