hey all! have a quick question. is a 1tb (7200) HD slower than a 500gig (7200) HD? or is it even that noticeable? the reason i ask is b/c i seriously doubt i will ever use 1tb. so if i can save a few bucks and not sacrifice speed, then i would rather get the 500 gig. thanks for yalls help. bout to buy a pc from DSO and just have a few questions. Thanks!Cool

Thanks for the reply. So I guess it won't affect game performance?

I'm not sure if the difference is even big enough to notice, go with the 500GB

is there a difference in seektime? they both seem to have a 8.9ms

It matters the model. The WD 1T black or RE3, vs the WD 500 blue? then the 1T models are nearly twice as fast, over the 500 gb black model, then the 1T is only 20%-40% faster.

justin that is a 16MB cache, not the 32MB cache. even in the 16MB cache I don't see where the avagarge read and write speed is twice as slow or anything like that.
