Hey guys. Just a quick question here. Will new CPUs and GPUs run older games(i.e. 2007-2013) better or worse than their older parts?
The reason I ask this is because someone called this into question with one game in particular (Arma 2). Edited by Batman34 - 22 Jan 2018 at 9:08pm |

As long as your (newer) operating system doesn't have a problem with a certain game, newer parts are gonna run it just fine IMHO. I'm playing Age of Empires 3 right now. Doesn't make the graphics any better of course
but it plays great.

If there is an issue it has to do do with the game's software, otherwise of course a 1080 can run a game that a 480 did, it can do it easier with less resources.

Yeah, this is more a Windows comparability question than hardware. Sometimes a game runs better if you run it in Compatability Mode.
