So I recently ordered a new PC. And I would like an opinion on whether or not I should upgrade my power supply first

Specs are as follows

Processor: Intel Core i5-12600K (4.9 GHz Turbo) (16-Thread) (10-Core) 3.7 GHz (Alder Lake)

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B760M-A AX D4 (Wi-Fi) (Intel B760 Chipset) (Up to 2x PCI-E) (No SLI) (DDR4)

System Memory: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Digital Storm Performance Series

Power Supply: 750W Digital Storm Performance Series (80 Plus Gold)

Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (2TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS) (NVM Express)

Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections)

Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce RTX 4070 12GB (VR Ready)

Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio

Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: High-Performance Copper Heat Pipe Cooler

Chassis Fans: Digital Storm Performance Series (RGB Fans)

Would a 750W power supply be enough to power this system?

A side note, I only found out after the fact, when it was too late to change my, that 750W MIGHT not be enough

If you are worried about it and DS hasn't started the build, you can call them and make changes to your order. Even if they have started your build, it wouldn't hurt to call. They tend to be very accommodating to get you what YOU want.

Good to know DS is accomodating.

Fortunately I've talked with others on Discord and they assure me a 750W power supply is good for the specs. By the sound of it It shouldn't exceed outputting 500 watts at any given moment.

Either way I appreciate the responses.

Looking at the Configurator, DS is charging you the same price for that 12600K proc as they would for the next gen 13600KF. You could still keep the DDR4 motherboard and the cheaper DDR4 RAM. No issues there. And no price change. The 13600KF is a better processor in every way. More threads, more cores, and faster.

I also highly recommend you consider getting a 500GB Samsung 980 PRO for your primary drive, and pairing that with your 2 TB 970 EVO PLUS at Storage Set 2. The 980 is twice as fast reading, and over 150% faster writing. It will cost you an extra $108, but it will make everything you do from your C drive much snappier. It will make for a much better experience for the life of your machine. Well worth the money.

The 750W power supply will remain your PSU of choice.
