So I have been reading around quite a bit about Intel's new chipset, and it seems I cannot find a legit answer, is it going to be a monster for gamers? Or is it a tid bit quicker than 3rd gen processors and run at lower power consumption? The other thing that makes me kind of wonder is, Intel is going to stop making motherboards for desktops and work towards laptops and handhelds, so if they are turning around and going to the micro department is that also in conjunction with how they will build their processors in the future including this one soon to be released.

Intel did change their mind about stopping making CPUs for the enthusiest market. As far as Haswell goes I am waiting for benchmarks.

That makes me happy. Not everything needs to go micro sized, I like huge computers. I would own a super computer if I had the money for it.

Intel has not raised the clock speeds on haswell from what I hear, this most times means that they didn't raise the chip speed because clock for clock its faster then it predecessor, it also has a new architecture.
All of that says it should bring fourth great performance improvement. I do hate the fact that they decided not to go 8 cores with it. |
