The other day it seemed like I didn't have much space left in my HD when I should have had more... so I highlighted everything in my C dir and went to properties - it looks like everything on my system takes up 70gb. However, I have 2 250gb HDs in RAID so I have 465 total gb of space, and I have only 335gb free. So how is 465-335 equal to 70gb? It's equal to 130gb. Where did my other 50gb go?
Has anyone else experienced this?

Yup. I actually posted about it a while ago. Let me find the link.
There you go. It's the new Vista system restore functionality, called the 'shadow copy' system. Edited by Jingping - 16 Nov 2007 at 7:39pm |

Restore points take up a lot of space on hard drives. If go to properties on C drive --> Disk Cleanup ---> More Options ----> you will see somthing called system restore and shadow copies. You can click clean up which will delete all but the most recent restore point. If you do this, be sure that your system is good :)
Your OS also takes maybe 20gb? I really have no idea I am just throwing that out there, but keep in mind the OS does take up space as well.
