I have never been able to detect my HDD using any diagnostic software. My HDD finally failed and I suspected it never really worked, and that is why I could never detect it.
However, I have installed a brand new HDD. This one is a different brand, and not even the software from the manufacturer will detect it. My Control Panel says it is SCSI drive, but it is SATA. Does anyone know why my PC came setup as SCSI? I think that is an issue. I can detect my drive using SCSI software, but that should not be. My drive is SATA and should be detected by seagate tools. Is it standard for Digital Storm to setup the HDD as a SCSI? |

Thanks for your reply. I have the 680 A1 revision.
In the CP of Vista my SATA HDD says "SCSI Device". I think that is why nothing will detect it. Do you think that is possible? Any idea how to change it? |

I'd get ahold of DS, they do have lifetime tech support after all.
Other than that, i'm wondering if it's a mobo issue or just an annoying vista glitch. Hopefully some more educated in the particulars of that mobo will come forward to help though again, i'd recommend calling tech support.
