Hi everyone, so I just just barely received my new PC from digital strom and my gpu is a rtx 2070 with 1x HDMI 2.0 and 3x Display Port 1.4 and my monitor has 1x Dp 1.2 and 2 HDMI 2.0 and Im still a noob at all this but I heard before for PC using a DP is usually better but im not sure since I was mainly a console user and only ever used HDMI. So any information is really appreciated

Definitely use DisplayPort out on your RTX 2070 to hook up to your monitor...

Computers prefer DP...for greater bandwidth, resolutions, and higher monitor refresh rates. Backwards version compatible.
Make sure your DP cable is male to male and certified DP 1.4...the newer standard.

TV prefers HDMI... It's there on your RTX 2070 for TV panel PC users, old cable compatibility, and for older pre-DP monitors HDMI compatibility.

Thank you, I am so glad that I bought that DP cable when I did and now I know that the DP port is best suited for PC. I appreciate you answering my question I hope to build my own PC one day so even the small things will help. Thanks
