Just wondering if anyone out here uses a HDTV as their monitor?

Also ive heard that you cant get as good of a resolution out of the HDTV's as you can out of normal LCD Computer monitors. Is this true and if so how much of a difference is it?

Kelly has more than one page of pinned topics, so this gets moved to the bottom of those.

I was going to buy a Westinghouse 47" LCDTV @ 1920x1200, but I decided to go for a higher resolution 30" Samsung @ 2560x1600.  From what I've heard, you want to get a HDTV with a DVI port, because the PC won't detect the TV correctly through an HDMI/DVI adapter.  Most people got it to display on the TV, but the edges were sometimes clipped.  Most of the people I've heard from that used DVI ports on an HDTV got it to work.

Does that mean this is the reason the picture is slightly fuzzier on the tv when compared to a computer screen? I usually use an S-video to AV cable.
In case of doubt, make it sound convincing.

Yes, S-video sends a much lower quality signal than DVI or HDMI.  DVI is the older technology, but there's already a new technology coming out for PC displays and has been certified by VESA.  I can't remember the name of it now, but Dell has already built some prototypes.

I can't even remember which forum that was on..  I don't think it was this one, though.

Thanks. I figured it was probably something along those lines.
