Budget:
$1700

Expectations:
I want to be able to play games smoothly for the next 5-6 years

Usage:
Games and only games

Special Needs:
If it could cook my breakfast in the morning, that'd be great.

Specifications:
See below...

My personal build crapped out on me about 2 years ago. It lasted 6 years with cooling problems in the last 2. I don't care to build my own again because it takes more than what I know to really make one well, but it was a fun venture. My friend bought a DS and swears by you guys.

I want back into the PC gaming realm obviously. I just want a computer to play games with my friends on Steam, maybe an MMO if something catches my fancy, Half-Life 3 (when pigs fly), StarCraft 2, and the new Star Wars lineup from EA when that hits in a year (hoping for a new Jedi Knight series game). I only expect to get maybe 5-6 years of life out of it (maybe that's expecting too much? I'm realistic though I know tech changes rapidly in this area)

My main gaming habits are League of Legends, Counter-Strike, MineCraft, and StarCraft 2. Like I said though I want something that will last into 2016 at the very least, and I'm totally up for upgrading 2-3 years down the road to keep my machine alive.

You all seem very helpful so if you could steer me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Also here are my biggest concerns about picking one out without some professional/user feedback is components stuff like:

1) Do I need liquid cooling? Will I be kicking myself down the road if I don't get it?
2) Will the graphics in the Vanquisher series last me long enough?
3) Windows 7 is the only option on the Vanquisher series. Is that bad to be a whole OS generation behind at this point?
4) Can I upgrade later if I get the Vanquisher series?

Best option for your budget is going to be the L3 Vanquish... Anything else will put you over budget... Can't say for the longevity, but graphics settings on future games may need to be lowered if no upgrades are performed... As far as the OS goes, if you don't need the system right away, they might get an upgrade to Win8.1 soon as it looks like they ran out of licenses for Win7 (all Vanquish models are prebuilt so you'd have to wait for a new batch - unless Alex knows something we don't )...

I agree with fstcvc, for your budget go Vanquish I expect you could get to L4 with your budget without a problem.

We'll be shifting to Windows 8 over time, probably in a month or so.

With your increase/change in budget, I would recommend a L4 Vanquish. And you still have money left over.
