I havent played video games in about 4 years.  When i was younger I used to play diablo 2 and cs 1.3/1.5  In 2004 i played Lineage 2, which was the best video game i had ever played.  At the start of college I decided school and social life would be enough to put gaming on the backburner for a while.  Now ive graduated and  have not touched games in a long time, so im pretty much out of the loop on the new technology.  At this point in my life i work really hard during the day and when i come home ide like to game on a hastle free performance rig.  I have researched virtually every boutique gaming company and i think ive settled in on digital storm due to their location and customer reviews.

I plan on purchasing a PC around Christmas time, but im going to have questions on every part of this process in the mean time.  Please bare with me.

I will be gaming on a 24" monitor or posibly larger.  The Game i will primarilly be playing will be Tera Online which promises to one of the most graphically demanding next gen mmorpg's.  I would also hope to play modern warfare 2, cs:source, and maybe some crysis.

This is a gaming rig, i do my work on my laptop.  Im not worried about 1TB hard drives and excess things of that nature. However, i would like a blue ray burner.  I want to be able to watch movies, but most importantly, I want to simultaneously play games, run fraps, run ventrilo, listen to music, and surf the web. My budget is $3500 max for the tower.  I am perfectly willing to spend this much, but only if it warrants the performance gains in what i want to do with this computer.

Like i said before im pretty oblivous to computer devlopment these days so if you guys could advise me slowly starting with the case.

Ok well you timing is great since the new nvida cards are supposet to come out nov - dec adn they are suppose to be as powerful as 2 of todays cards.

so we have to wait till they comeout so we can see what they can really do.

next we need to know the resolution you will be gaming at, since that we let us know how much gpu power you need to run games like crysis.

also we need to know the price of the new cards that will come out and we can't know that until they come out.

there is also rumor of new mobos coming out with pci-e 3.0 and sata 6GB/s.

In short I would love to show you something now, but its not gonna be anything like on what I'm gonna recommend to you around nov - dec.

not to mention that god knows what is going to happen with ssd prices.

now if we were gonna build it today and your res was 1900 x 1200, then I would have recommended something like this:

thank you for the quick reply.

Yes i will be gaming at 1900x1200

1.First, from what ive read  i am going to want a large gaming tower.  To be honest i like the look of the hailstorm and 950si.  What is the difference between the one you chose?

2.I assume you chose the i7 920 at 2.66 ghz due to the fact that you guys overclock so well there no performance gain in a more expensive cpu?

3.By the time i purchase this computer i am going to want to get directx11 cards?

4.Also im assuming liquid cooling ensures for better overclocks and runs more silent?

Go with the Corsair /Hailstorm case. There is a nice video on the Corsair website, Corsair case, Obsidian 800 series.(their only one) I'm not sure if Digital Storm has its own  video on the Hail Storm, sorry DS. In my opinion this is one of the best cases out there. Design, upgradable, air flow and wire management. I'm sure DS had some input on design.EmbarrassedI'm planning on using it for my system.

1. the HAF has the best airflow out of all the cases here, unless you gonna LC the gpus then go with the HAF.

2. yes.

3. the new cards I talked about coming out are dx11 cards.

4. LC gives better temps, because of that it can help you get better oc, but better temps are always what you want.

Hailstorm/obsidian 800 is best for people that are LCing cpu/gpu, it does not have better airflow then the HAF.
