I plan on buying a sweet rig around Christmas time (hoping for some deals) and I'm wondering if this system will be good to play all the new and old games on. I'm trying to stay under 3000 dollars and this is what I've gotten up to. Any advice to save me money anywhere or any advice relating basically to any part in comparison to another would be great. Thanks.

Yep. OpenOffice.org, check it out. I would drop the microsoft office software and put that money into a 1000W PSU if you think you might like SLI down the road, or into a couple of 320GB or 500GB HDD's for that RAID 1 array. I assume you're doing RAID 1 for data integrity as losing a term paper to a failed drive would CensoredCensoredCensoredCensored, to put it mildly. With that in mind, I would keep the RAID 1 array, but consider a move to a larger drive. The latest programs, including operating systems are only getting larger.

I am a fan of having a raid 1 setup after loosing part of a huge mp3 collection from a combination of a hard drive failure and bad sectors on CD ROM.
