Help new gaming Rig

I think I can answer a couple of these for you.

First off you are thinking like I was thinking when I first started this process...gotta get the gtx590 because it is the best. The true story is that it is not the best by anymeans. It is basically 2 580's on one board. They detune them so they dont even run as good as a single gtx580 does. They produce crap tons of heat with just one 590 and if you SLI they will turn into electronic lava....or something like that.

Yes the two 570's would be more than enough for your needs. The ODE's are the absolute best bang for your buck.

The main thing in building a rig is the resolution you are gaming at. For you there would be no difference in 2 570's or 2 580's. If you want to upgrade your monitor or go duel screen that is when you will see noticeable differences.

Lets clarify.

1. sli 580/570 will beat single 590, tri sli 570/580 will beat quad sli 590(2 x 590).

2. if the mobo can't do tri sli then it can't do quad sli (2 x 590), you are not understanding how pci lanes work correctly.

3. you can't do quad sli or tri sli on p67/68 correctly due to platform limitations, for tri sli or quad sli ability you need to go to x79 platform with is about $500 more expensive then the p67.

4. if you are going to go dual monitor at 1900 x 1200 res and game across both, you gonna want a system with dual sli and option to go tri sli.

5. at your budget you can't do quad sli 590 cause even if the p67 could do it right, you would need the 1200w corsair psu, once you thru in everything else you will be way above $2900 on the less pricy p67, on the x79 forget about it.

6. for higher res then 1900 x 1200 you gonna want more ram so for example dual sli 570 2.5GB would be great with option to go tri sli.

7. the difference between sli 570 and 580 is not that much at all where it counts and its not worth it to go 580 for 8 more fps when you already getting more then you need.

now none of that is in the budget, so the best you can do is sli 570 from ode 3, but keep in mind ode 3 has the 1.2GB version of 570 for dual monitor you gonna want the 2.5GB version.

with the 800w psu in ode keep in mind that in the future if you want to upgrade the sli to future cards and they have needs of a 580 sli the 800w can't do it.

games like bf3 at max settings on 2 monitors will need sli 570 and more, if you turn down the settings then you can do good.
