Ok, I've finalized my overall config that I plan to buy this week, however my budget hit a snag So I have to decide which of two lesser cards I plan to get.

First off. I probably won't be playing games on any higher resolutions than 1680x1050 for at least 2+ years.(thats my current flatscreen monitors max resolution)

I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I do enjoy pleasing graphics and good framerates especially in mmo's.

Some upcoming games for reference I would like to be able to play on medium-high to high settings:
TERA, Guild Wars 2, Star Wars: TOR, I might play FFXIV again.
Also I am looking toward the future with things like Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Dragons Age 2, Crysis and Crysis 2 etc.

Ok with all that out of the way, My plan is no later than 2 years from now upgrading to a Geforce gtx 570.

But at the moment, there isn't any way on my budget with the config I need, to fit that into my budget.

So: Knowing that I will be upgrading to the 570 in 2 years, Should I still get the best card I can afford the gtx 560 ti? or Can I settle for the 550 ti?

Thank you for any and all responses.

go with a 560 and in 2 years there will be something way better than a gtx 570 out for the same price.  Video card life cycles are fairly short.

As the others said, 560 now and upgrade to future gpu in 2 years, you probably won't even find a 570 by then
