Q2: What perks can i get from getting a power supply like 1200W Corsair Pro Platinum Series with Corsair Link or other PSU that have 1000W +

Originally posted by bprat22 Hi Oreomadness....   For oc' d sli 680s , audio card and the higher demanding x79 mobo I would go with the 1050hx.     I never looked into Corsair Link but the HX has a 7 year warranty which speaks of its quality and is semi- modular, meaning only the 2 mobo cables are hard wired which makes for cleaner cable management and easier to swap out.   The 1200w Corsairs are fully modular but are more than you need unless you went tri-sli or just wanted ' to make sure'. Some will say 800w is enough but if a psu struggles you'll get crashes, re-sets, BSOD, etc and wonder if its the mobo, ram, etc before realizing the problem.    The psu isn't the place to save a few bucks.
