I have been building PCs for over 4 years now and I have never encountered this problem before. I slap the machine togetaher and when i try to turn it on it turns on for a second [fans start spinning etc] than it turns off. I checked for connections etc everyhting seems to be fine.[note: when i plug in my PSU and turn it on there is a blue AND an orange light..not sure if that means anything] I took it out put the MOBO on a carton box with PSU nothing in xcept CPU and it shows the same problem. That means its either a faulty PSU or a MOBO or a CPU. I still dont know wich1. Right now im about to take apart my own PC and try my PSU on it just to make the cirlce of the devil a little smaller. Im very frustrated becouse its 1k on my shoulders. Please help, thanks in advance!!

well make sure to try another psu if you can but when this happened my cpu was not being cooled cause the stock fan came loose and it just shut off automatically so check that.

I turned on the system without a CPU fan when i got it and this problem occured. So i tought it wont turn on becouse it doesnt detect a CPU fan. I went and bought1. It came with a very weird set up so i just screwed the fan itself on connected it to MOBO and still nothing. I couldnt have fried the CPU under 1 second since it shut off. I dont know what to do... =( |

You probably didn't fry it but it sounds like it's still not getting cooled check how you screwed it on.

Sounds like the PSU is having some issues with your motherboard like the Enermax Revolution does with the Classified motherboard.
Two things that have worked when I experienced that: 1. Unplug power from PSU, wait 30 seconds, plug in, unplug Motherboard power connector, wait 5 seconds, plug in, hold power on button. 2. Unplug power from PSU, wait 30 seconds, plug in, wait 30-60 seconds, hold power on button. Works most of the time, though this could also be the sign of a bad/incompatible PSU. |
