So, there's choice.
To play and stream on the same rig at once, you need two elements: CPU power/bandwidth, and GPU power/bandwidth. 16 GB of RAM should be plenty for both tasks at once, but you definitely want some serious CPU capability. That means cores AND threads. The i9 9700K does not double the core count with threads, so on the Intel side, you want the 9900K. On the AMD side, you can save decent money with the 2700X. Both have 8 cores and 16 threads. The Intel is faster boosted at stock, and overclocked, but either will get the job done just fine. You get to pick. The Intel build is this one: Config ID 2217026 $2823 Just copy and paste in the box that opens when you choose "Load Config" in the upper right hand corner of the DS home page. The AMD Ryzen build is this one: Config ID 2217045 $2533 You can see there is about $300 difference between the two. Either will get the job done well IMO. The parts chosen above the DS branded parts are for quality name branding, and 5 year factory warranties that will be good well beyond the DS one year on parts. The lighting option is free. The RTX line has plenty of memory bandwidth and additional computing cores that will handle the streaming chores beyond the Cuda cores you need for gaming. In the Ryzen build, there is room for an RTX 2080 and be under budget. But unless you are (unrealistically) trying to game at 1440p and over-the-top framerates AND stream, I think it's overkill at a pretty steep premium over the 2070. You didn't tell us your monitor specs, but I assume they're not too crazy. At 1080p. you're golden. If you need more info about the video choice or whether to over-clock the CPU, I'd check with someone from DS. I do not recommend overclocking the GPU at all, given the load it's going to be under when you stream. Hope it helps. |

So do you think the Intel build will be the best option? So if I wanted I can just order it how you configured it and not change anything cause honestly I don't know about what is good or not. Also does it matter what monitor keyboard and mouse I get? Also thanks so much for the help I really appreciate it so much, all this stuff goes over my head so most of what you said I didn't really understand but I'll trust you 😊

Your monitor will impact image quality dramatically. For example if running over 60fps (frames per second) but only have a 60mhz display (TV or low-end consumer monitor) you will have noticeable screen tearing (jagged and misaligned images) where if your refresh rate is say 144mhz you will have less tearing. If you went with the ryzen build you could get a ACER XG270HU with your saving. This is a 1440p 144mhz 1ms response gaming monitor. This is make full use of your GPU. This monitor is also freesync and gsync compatible, which means gsync on PC and if you play Xbox you can use the variable refresh rate there too.

Just to clear something. Freesync only works with AMD gpus and G-Sync with NVIDIA based cards.

It's the money. The Intel build will be marginally faster, but you'd never know it. The Ryzen build does allow for some extras like that monitor, for example. You could easily order either config as is, or add something that catches your eye like fancy fans or colored cables. I don't add bling except the free stuff. The monitor suggested is not G-Sync to go with an Nvidia card, but IMO, if the monitor can handle high framerates, you're not going to see tearing. Keyboard is pretty subjective. I like to have programmable keys, but that's me. Keep asking until you're satisfied. |

That is actually incorrect now hose. As of the driver update on 1-15-19 gsync works on freesync monitors. 12 are listed as 100% compatible. I have the monitor I listed and it works beautifully. Catch is you must have a 10xx or higher card. That monitor is CERTIFIED GSYNC COMPATIBLE, that doesn't mean it has a gsync module just that Nvidia is utilizing the adaptive sync to run gsync off of it. Tested this with a 1060 6GB. You do still have to use display port to get it to activate but that is for all gsync monitors too. Edited by Psyoshi - 19 Jan 2019 at 9:07am |

Thank you very much for the correction. I go with if its working, don't improve it. That's what I get for not looking at updates.

Hey but know you know Hose, if you want to enable it you have to use DDU to remove the driver (boot into safe mode before running it) and then install the new 417.71 driver from Nvidia directly to enable the new features. It really is wonderful saved me $400 for a 27" 1440 144mhz monitor so yeah lol
