Get your Windows up and running, get your antivirus running, make a backup if you have a program and external HDD, get your browser customized, get programs installed...should I go on?

Normally I expect a new computer to take up to two days to be ready for me to have programs installed, data migrated, etc.

Well, you can play as soon as you download your games.. the machines are ready to be used. You just have to make sure that you're ready to start downloading stuff in a safe and sane manner.

Good luck!!! and Have Fun!!

John18 probably has a lot of housekeeping bringing over files and programs from his existing set-up. IIRC. this is your first PC, so you can jump right in! If you're using Windows Security, click on the windowpane in the lower left, or press the windowpane key on your keyboard. The list that opens is alphabetical, so Windows selections are near the bottom. Click on Windows Security, and see if the items are checked. They should be on by default. Once you are sure you're protected, you can do anything you want!
