do you think an overclock of 3.766 ghz on an i7-920 with the haf 922 and cooler master v8 is too much, or is it safe?

my DS will be shipped tomorrow, but yesterday it had passed stage 7 with 3.766 ghz overclock instead of the stock i went with .. and just now they said they didn't know what had happened and they would, if i so choose to, ship it with the overclocked pc (really nice i must add !!)

They still offer the V8? If it passed their QC, it is safe for you. They put it through some pretty extreme stuff and if you got a 3.766, then congrats. Good chip. The 920 LOVES overclocking so you should be safe.

yes, the v8 is still offered. there weren't many options in cooling b/c i went with the pre-built i7-Extreme 2. haha, i totally forgot about the stress tests.

You should be okay especially if DS tested it.  I oc'd my 920 to 3.7 (if include turbo) with the V8; though I have the HAF 932.  Temps are great and held steady ever since.  http://digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=6172

i read your post. wow, 1st time overclocking to 3.7 ghz? i'm a beginner, just learning about it past few weeks. doesn't look complicated as i 1st imagined it was, but i haven't overclocked anything yet. seeing that 3.7 ghz is good, i'll probably stick with it.
