Topic: Help with config please Posted: 12 Oct 2009 at 6:27pm |
I'm looking to upgrade my dinosaur to an up-to-date gaming pc. I came across this site and must say I'm impressed with everyones reviews with DS. I've built a few computers but had major headaches in the beginning. I don't have time or the resources to troubleshoot anymore. The warranty is the big seller for me.
I'm looking to spend around $1500 or cheaper. I do mostly gaming, but also use Autocad, Photoshop, and video editing software. I want a system that will last me for a few years.
Things I want it to have: Don't know if its possible within this price range
CPU: Intel I-7
Ram: 3 or 6 gig. Don't know if 3 will work with games these days
MB: EVGA or Asus ( whats more commonly used?)
Video Card: Nvidia
HD: 500 Gig
Everything else I need please recommend.
Thank you guys for helping me out.

I would recommend having a look at our special deal configurations.

I'm going with Alex, the easiest what to get what you want for that price (other than custom building) is to use the pre-built configurations who knows...might even find somthing you like better |

Hey guys,
Thanks for responding so fast.
I'm looking at the Special Deals (I-7 Extreme 1)
If I wanted to add more ram and video cards, am I able to do it with this setup?
Whats the most ram that will work with this setup?
Will this work in SLI and how many cards?
Thanks Guys

I'm sure you can fine tune a little bit if you call, you can always use DS upgrade option down the road Go with the EVGA mobo
ram depends on the mobo and cpu you end up picking, just remember not to go TOO insane with the ram, for gaming and things like that 6g 1800 will b plenty
SLI again depends on the mobo u pick if i remember correctly all EVGA'a offored on here will deff support SLI though

It won't let me pick a mobo and it doesn't say who makes it and model.

That's the only problem with the specials, you don't have as many configuration options
go to the full customization option and play around with it and just see what you some up with, can't hurt anything
