is this not gonna be back in stock?

otherwise best thing to do is just find a 1333MHz ram with the same timing.

my suggestion, remove your old RAM, sell it, keep it for backup, ect. Replace it with 3x2Gb sticks, of decent RAM 1600Mhz with CAS 7 or lower timings.. Your PC will be much happier.

understand, just giving my $.02 for a very small amount of $$ you can get 2 times the memory performance, and not put a crap load of extra load on the integrated memory controller, and when 6Gb is not enough you could add another 6Gb.

If you are bound dertermined to use that RAM, just throw another set of RAM in with the same specs, it is hard to find that crappy of RAM, but here is some that will work.

sorry, one more question from a n00b.  is it correct that the timing of the memory is set by the manufacturer and the speed can be set in the bios? thanks.

You should be able to set timings in the BIOS, I've done it over the phone with Digital Storm when I had to redo my overclocks.

timings and RAM speed are set in the BIOS.
the RAM manufacturer states what the RAM is capable of performing (speed/timings) at given voltage

If I can change the timings and the speed then do I need to buy new ram that has the same speed/timing as my old ram?  thanks

Do you think i will really see noticeable difference if I upgrade to completely new ram?  For example 6gb at 1600Mhz at 8-8-8-24, instead of buying 3gb more of 1333Mhz at 9-9-9-24.

if it is 3.4Ghz then you won't have to adjust the Overclock speed, just the RAM multi, Uncore multi, if it is higher than that, then a slight Overclock adjustment will be needed.
If your temps are good now, you can also raise the overclock some while you are at it, I can help out if you want to.

So, going from 1333 CAS 9 to 1600 CAS 8 is a decent Bandwidth jump, won't make a huge difference, like going from 3 to 6 Gb, but it will help, and will make upgrading to 12Gb a lot easier some day, if you need to.

OK, so here are my options.

1) buy additional 3gb 1333mhz, 9-9-9-24 for ~$85
2) buy additional 6gb 1333mhz, 9-9-9-24 for ~$165 (total 9gb in my system)
3) buy new 6bg 1600mhz, 8-8-8-24 for ~$200
4) buy new 6gb 1600mhz, 7-7-7-20 for ~$250

or something else entirely
