I'm going to purchase today, I think.

DS seems fantastic to me.  I veered dangerously close to Falcon but took such a spanking on the Sharkey forums, whose members were eager to remind me of the old adage about a fool and his money that I went back to square one.  I have seen other PC system assembly companies online but either the tackiness factor is enormous or they are pushing proprietory parts and thereby limiting upgradeability.  I did not want to be swallowed whole by Dell again, Alienware or not, and other boutiques like Falcon are too costly.  I was amazed and gratified to find DS, thanks to a Sharkey forum expert recommendation, and if the build/service is as good as I anticipate it will be based on my experience so far, I'm here for good.

After experimenting with AMD, RAID, H2O vs air cooling and various other choices, here is my final configuration.  Comments welcome, especially as I intend to seal the deal later today.

I still need to learn about monitors, as I need to buy my first gaming LCD and know nothing about their resolutions.

This rig will be used for serious gaming, on and offline, and DV editing.

what resolution are you going to be gaming at?

lol I have dells, aw, FNW, and I can tell you tho FNW was the best out of the 3, the price is ripping you off, so I looked around for a good quality builder that didn't rip me off in price.

found this place last year and have not moved an inch since welcome aboard, you are at the right place

Thanks for the vote of confidence.  I have never owned a LCD monitor so I have to do my homework, as I know way too little about resolution choices.  What are my options with the above system and a good 22" or 24" LCD?

22" one 275 GTX is all you need, 24" you might need sli 275 depending on what games you play, don't waste your money on 285
